I like understanding how all the pieces fit together.
I’m Amanda Schoedel, a web designer, developer, and strategist who likes getting into the details, asking the right questions, and understanding how a business actually works before deciding what the website needs.
I’ve never fit neatly into one job title, and that’s useful.
That curiosity has shaped the way I work. Strategy, design, development, SEO, and the technical details don’t live in separate boxes for me.
I’m a designer who likes understanding how things work, a developer who cares about hierarchy and messaging, and a strategist who wants recommendations to hold up when it’s time to implement them.
You work directly with me through all of it. I can move between the big-picture questions and the tiny technical details without losing the context behind either.
I’m collaborative, but I’m not passive. If I think there’s a better approach (or that something isn’t worth the time or money) I’ll tell you. Sometimes that means building something new, sometimes improving what’s already there, and sometimes leaving it alone for now.
A lot of my best work happens after the first project.
I love a good redesign, but the relationships I value most are usually the ones that keep going.
Once I know your website, your team, your priorities, and all the odd little details no one writes down, the work gets easier and more useful.
I already know why that plugin is there.
I remember the feature we decided not to build two years ago.
And when you say, “You know that thing we talked about?” there’s a decent chance I actually do.
Independent by design.
I run Amanda Schoedel Creative independently, and that’s intentional. It lets me stay close to the work and to the people behind it.
I learn who needs to approve what, which ideas might be a hard sell internally, and when you want my actual opinion instead of a polite list of options.
On your end, you don’t have to make everything sound polished before you send it to me. Sometimes the starting point is a full brief. Sometimes it’s: “Here’s what I’m thinking. Tell me what you think.”
I like that kind of relationship. There’s trust, there’s shorthand, and we can get to the good stuff a lot faster.

The best websites aren’t rebuilt every time something changes. They have room to evolve.
I like working the same way: getting to know the website, the business behind it, and all the context that makes the work easier and more useful over time.
